![]() Kodi Lee belted out an overwhelming assurance – as if it should have ever been needed – that a blind man with autism is also included in the definition of America. If being a “true” American traditionally implied independence and autonomy, this one element of national identity alone could be enough to stigmatize people with disabilities. It was a rare opportunity for disabled and non-disabled to be fully present together, under the same umbrella of time and space.įinally, I think it’s important to return to the title of the show: “America’s Got Talent.”Īfter the Industrial Revolution, the ability to contribute labor and earn a paycheck became defining features of what it meant to be American. In other words, because many tasks can take longer for someone with a disability, keeping pace can feel like a constant struggle. Philosopher and disability theorist Licia Carlson has written that “the experience of disability may be defined in negative terms when people fail to live according to what is considered to be normal time.” Perhaps the most joyful aspect of Kodi Lee’s performance, however, is rooted in the dimension of time. To sing these lines believably means to have lived them or to have imagined their truth. Infantilizing and de-sexualizing people with disabilities is still commonplace – as though physical or intellectual disability should necessarily exclude the ability to feel desire and the longing to be desired. “We’re alone now and I’m singing this song to you,” he croons, evoking deep intimacy and connection. “I’ve been so many places in my life and time,” he begins. This pushed the mint to look for alternative metals again for the coin, and also brought the debate about eliminating the coin into more focus. In the early 2010s, the price of metal used to make pennies rose to a noticeable cost to the mint which peaked at more than $0.02, a negative seigniorage, for the $0.01 face-value coin. Pennies is the plural form (not to be confused with pence, which refers to the unit of currency). The colloquial term penny derives from the British coin of the same name, which occupies a similar place in the British system. Treasury's official name is "one cent piece". Mint's official name for the coin is " cent" and the U.S. The current copper-plated zinc cent issued since 1982 weighs 2.5 grams, while the previous 95% copper cent still found in circulation weighed 3.11 g (see further below). The penny is issued in its current form as the Lincoln cent, with its obverse featuring the profile of President Abraham Lincoln since 1909, the centennial of his birth. If you want pixels (for applying layer styles or bc you think using a Shape for a line is stupidly complicated for drawing a line), as far as I can tell the only way to do it is to draw a shape layer then Rasterize Layer. So if you want the arrowhead to be a different color than the line, you need to draw the line and arrowheads seperately. However, they are also always stroked unless you set Stroke to 0, but then the line disappears. The Fill seems to only apply to the arrowheads. Since I was on a black background, it was invisible (sort of). It took me a while to figure out that the Stroke is what controls the line color and it defaults to black. Change both your Fill and Stroke colors to the color you want the line. Why even have the Path option in this case? It wasn't clear the 'shape' was a path that needed to be stroked. Unlike all other 'shapes', the Line tool creates a path, not a shape. To summarize what you need to do to get the same thing the old line tool did effortlessly: And just saying 'draw a rectangle' is not helpful. I've just wasted 40 minutes trying to draw a stupid line with arrows. Same thing, but two steps instead of one. He goes from the incompetent Adam Gase to a rising star in the coaching ranks in Joe Brady. ![]() I have a feeling Darnold could have a resurgence in Carolina. And if it doesn’t work out, I’ll just cut my losses and find another flier on the waivers. Smith could be a high upside sleeper at tight end this year. I’ve waited long enough on tight end and am happy to land Smith in Round 12. Instead, I’m going with Pittman, who like Shenault possesses a ton of Year 2 upside. So I’ll just keep waiting and take my starter later. Dallas Goedert, Kyle Pitts, and Logan Thomas were all taken between my 10th and 11th round picks. I waited one too many rounds to take a tight end. But he’s still one of the top handcuffs in fantasy and could see an increased role in his sophomore season. The return of Aaron Jones took some air out of Dillon’s fantasy stock. I’m taking an upside shot on Shenault, who’s a beast with the ball in his hands. Running back is a dumpster fire, so I turned to receiver. Hockenson didn’t feel like the best value. There are a ton of tight ends I like still left on the board. This is where the draft is starting to get ugly. Running back’s becoming a hot mess, so I’m settling for Edmonds, who could be effective with more playing time in Arizona. If he falls off a cliff, this entire passing game could sink.Įveryone’s thrilled that LSU teammates Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase will be reuniting in Cincinnati. Moore caught 21 fewer passes than he did in 2019, but he racked up 18 more receiving yards. I’m expecting big things from Burrow in Year 2, so I’m locking him in as my QB2. Swift could be an elite pass-catching tailback in his second season. It came down to Swift and Najee Harris, but I’m rolling with Swift because of the half-PPR format. And I’ve got a stud quarterback on my roster already. I was tempted to take another quarterback, and Michael Thomas, Keenan Allen, and Allen Robinson were all on the board. I’ve always been a believer in Mixon’s talent, and I finally think we’ll get to see him operate in a functional offense. But receiver is insanely deep, and I needed to make sure I got an RB1. I was tempted to take Stefon Diggs, or Murray’s top weapon, DeAndre Hopkins with this pick. In a superflex league, I couldn’t pass up Murray’s dual-threat ability.
